About Thinking

Rodin said, "Life is not lacking in beauty, but in eyes that discover beauty." And this "discovery" requires people with a mindful approach to look at and think about problems from a different perspective. Only through continuous innovation can everything become better.

Methods change people, and thinking transforms people.

Thinking determines a person's abilities. No matter how many methods there are to determine whether a person is talented, thinking is an essential aspect of talent.

I. Multidisciplinary Thinking#

Everything is interconnected. For a specific problem, if we only analyze and think about it using one way of thinking, we will only obtain a narrow result.

II. Model Thinking#

Model thinking refers to the ability to extract our knowledge and the thinking process in our work into models. There is a popular course called "Mathematical Modeling," which involves turning difficult problems encountered in life into mathematical models for quantitative analysis and interpretation.

III. Systems Thinking#

Emphasize relationship analysis rather than element analysis. An object always exists in two dimensions simultaneously. Systematic thinking is about recognizing the relationship between these two dimensions. It involves considering the interaction between systems and elements, elements and elements, and systems and the environment. It has the characteristics of integrity, structure, three-dimensionality, dynamics, and comprehensiveness.

IV. Leveraged Thinking#

Many people like to use Archimedes' famous quote, "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world!" to describe the leverage effect. All information, matter, and energy can be leveraged. For example, in real estate investment, leverage is used to obtain a 100% increase in property value by leveraging the down payment.

V. Detached Thinking#

This means cultivating a strong sense of self-value that is not swayed by external factors. Often, we care too much about how others perceive us and our actions are motivated by a weak sense of self-esteem. This is a sign of low self-identity.

VI. Critical Thinking#

Right and wrong are sometimes just different perspectives. When we look at something, we often don't see it first and then define it; instead, we define it first and then see it. Due to flaws in our thinking, we are influenced by external factors and have many biases. To objectively understand things, we need to analyze problems with critical thinking.

VII. Insightful Thinking about the Hidden World#

Psychology has a famous "Iceberg Theory," which states that what is presented to us is often only a small part, and the majority is usually concealed. We need to cultivate the ability to see into the hidden world. For example, when we read, we often only see the surface of an article. We need to use the author's thinking to consider the background, motivation, techniques, and strategies used in writing. Once we master this skill, our learning process will be much more efficient.

VIII. Inertial Thinking#

Inertial thinking refers to the tendency to think and analyze problems using fixed patterns or approaches. Breaking through the inherent is difficult, as the saying goes, "No destruction, no creation." If we want to break through ourselves, we must break free from our fixed and habitual thinking! Otherwise, even our thinking will be confined to old and stale ideas, and we won't be able to take on the responsibilities that life gives us.
Sometimes, even if you genuinely want to solve a problem, you are still influenced by habitual practices and unable to solve it because the problem may never be solvable using conventional methods. This is often caused by inertial thinking, which affects a large number of people.

  • ¤ Negative Thinking

For example: impossible, no way, how could it be? Never thought of, don't know, etc. These words will make your brain stop thinking and not find answers.

  • ¤ Blaming Others

For example: didn't see, don't know, not my fault, because of XX, etc. These words allow a person to feel innocent and not responsible for the matter, but they also miss out on opportunities for growth.

  • ¤ Limited Responsibility

This is not my responsibility, that is not my responsibility. If you are not in a position, you won't plan for it. In fact, opportunities are always reserved for those who are prepared.

  • ¤ Complaining

Always considering oneself a victim, always blaming others for what happens. Losing the ability to solve problems, happiness and joy slowly fade away.

  • ¤ Self-righteousness

Not being able to accept anyone's opinions, always thinking that one is right. Gradually, no one will give them advice anymore, and they will only hear what they want to hear. They become stubborn and narrow-minded.

  • ¤ Lack of Confidence

If you don't believe in something, you will never put in your full effort to strive for it. Without effort, things will naturally take their course, and it shows a lack of initiative and effort.

  • ¤ Fear of Making Mistakes

People who are afraid of making mistakes dare not do more things. When they make a mistake, they immediately find excuses for themselves. They often argue about right and wrong, losing the opportunity to try and lacking a sense of results.

  • ?¤ Laziness

Not wanting to do anything, not willing to think, content with the status quo, avoiding conflicts, unable to handle pressure, just wanting to gain without effort, dreaming every day. This kind of person is comfortable with a life of ease. Abilities stop at thinking, action, and perception. Laziness in behavior and thinking will lead to death.

These behaviors that are often exposed are caused by inertial thinking. Therefore, in certain matters, the power of habit is very frightening. It can lead you into a dead end. Fixed thinking blocks insightful perspectives and innovative ideas.

At this time, we need to constantly remind ourselves to stop and think whether we have fallen back into our old ways after taking a step forward. Reflect and adjust in a timely manner to avoid falling into a trap without realizing it.

"Thinking determines the way out, and perspective determines the outcome."
